Christmas Preparations!

Christmas is just around the corner! Everyone in Bluebell Oaks is excited and preparations are being made. Today was a special day in the Persis household, as they were putting up their tree.
Septimus Persis heaved the heavy fir tree up to his front door. He had cut it from a part of the woods where a patch of conifers grew - unfortunately on the other side of the woods! The Christmas tree was not only heavy, it was large, awkard, and hard to carry. The pine needles were pricking his skin and making him itch. Dragging a tree through the woods for an hour was not exactly his idea of fun, but he knew it was worth the struggle when he heard his children squealing with excitement at his arrival. With much difficulty, he manouvered it through the front door.

"It's huge Dad!" Septimus' eldest son Nolly said in awe.
"Yeah, let's get decorating!" His daughter Sadie added with enthusiasm.
They placed the tree in a covenient corner of the living room, in a sturdy pot.

Salome had spent the afternoon rummaging in the attic and had finally found the box of Christmas decorations.

"I'm doing the tinsel!" Sadie claimed.
"Well then I get to do the ornaments!" Her brother was not going to be outdone.
"No! That's not fair..."
Salome stepped in before a fight could break out. "We'll all hang up a decoration each and help with the tinsel together."

Once the tinsel and ornaments were put up, now came the important part of placing the star on top. It had always been tradition in the Persis household for the youngest member of the family to put the star on top. And this year the youngest was little baby Rona. Septimus lifted her up so she could reach.

Then everything was finished, and the Persis' Christmas tree for the year had been decorated.

Pleased with their work, the family settled down for another happy evening in their warm, cosy, and now Christmassy living room.

You may have noticed that the Persis' house isn't a sylvanian house. It was actually made for me by my brother, and I furnished it myself. The family are very happy with their cosy home. I may show some more photos of their house in another post - they will be happy to show you around. In the meantime, Merry Christmas. The summer holidays are almost here in New Zealand so soon I will have more sylvanian time! Yay!

  1. Another beautifully written story Kelsie and another wonderful family sharing their Christmas tree decorating with us, as we peep through the windows of their lovely home. Your brother is indeed a very talented builder and he shows his love for you in the building of the Persis house. I want to thank you Kelsie for sharing your Sylvanian families with those of us who do not have any Sylvanians to share our lives with. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year with your Sylvanian families and with your own family. Look forward to checking in in the New Year and catching up with more adventures in the idyllic village of Bluebell Oaks. Well done. Sending you love and hugs.xxoo

  2. Hi Kelsie!
A lovely story to get into the festive spirit. Your pictures are really cute, specially the one where Septimus is lifting Rona to put the star on top of the tree.I love the last picture too. A lovely family photo. I can feel the Christmassy atmosphere at the Persis´home. By the way, I hadn´t noticed the house wasn´t sylvanian until I read it was handmade by your brother . He did a very good job.
